About IDEO

IDEO is an award-winning global design firm that takes a human-centered, design-based approach to helping organizations in the public and private sectors innovate and grow.

We identify new ways to serve and support people by uncovering latent needs, behaviors, and desires.

We envision new companies and brands, and we design the products, services, spaces, and interactive experiences that bring them to life.

Our work is possible because of the design thinking process and a strong common belief in our seven core values, which are written on our walls:

  • Be optimistic
  • Collaborate
  • Embrace ambiguity
  • Learn from failure
  • Make others successful
  • Take ownership
  • Talk less, do more

Increasingly, our clients are asking us not only to design end products, services and experiences, but also to help them build creative cultures and learn design thinking processes to sustain innovation and launch new ventures on their own.

So we've launched IDEO U, an online school to help individuals, teams and organizations build creative confidence and solve anything creatively.

IDEO U builds on a long history of teaching at IDEO. Our founder, David Kelley, is the founder and chairman of the d.school at Stanford, where many IDEO practitioners bring their experience from the field into the classroom, teaching the next generation of innovators.

IDEO U instructors are creative leaders at the firm who have led hundreds of projects across industries and across the globe, and leverage insights from their experience in teaching others our methods.
